Ian is mainly a Salsa DJ, but he can play other types of music at your event too. He can play a single style of Salsa music (such as Cuban Salsa or New York Mambo) or a mix of styles. He can also play Merengue, Bachata and Reggaeton. This page tells you something about these different types of music
New York Salsa
Sometimes called Mambo or On2 Salsa, New York Salsa is best suited to the crossbody style of dancing, with a mixture of partner work and solo dancing (known as shines).
Cuban Salsa
Cuban Salsa is a term which describes a variety of Cuban music styles, from the older Son, through updated forms like Songo, to Timba which is currently the most popular form of Cuban music.
R&B Salsa
R&B Salsa has become very popular in the UK over the past few years and is a term covering a variety of styles of Salsa, which have been influenced by R&B or Hip-Hop.
Merengue and Bachata
Merengue and Bachata are both from the Dominican Republic and although neither are actually Salsa, they are played at most Salsa clubs in the UK.

Reggaeton
Reggaeton is a blend of Latin music with Hip-Hop and Dancehall. It has been popular for a long time in Latin countries, but has recently gained wider popularity, even entering the UK top ten in 2005.
